West End at War, Leicester Square, London WC2 - 12th/13th June 2004

Sixty years ago, although the tide of World War II was starting to turn in favour of the Allies, bombs were still falling on Westminster almost daily, and rationing made everyday life for those on the home front very hard. But despite the obvious threats, the West End of London was thriving and attracted Allied servicemen and civilians to let their hair down in the cinemas, pubs and dance halls of the area. Good times were never rationed!

Experience London life during World War II!

Westminster City Council is transforming Leicester Square into 1940’s London. Head down on the weekend of 12 & 13th June and join the fun.
